Clifton Park Trustee Candidates Sought - Nominating Petitions Available at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library

Clifton Park, NYTwo of the seven Clifton Park trustee positions on the 2011 Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library Board of Trustees are up for election this September. Candidates from the Town of Clifton Park are currently being sought for the two available trustee positions.
            Responsibilities of a Library Trustee include:

To be considered a candidate for the open Clifton Park trustee positions one must be an eligible voter residing in Clifton Park. Candidates must neither be employed by the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library nor be a contractor/vendor to the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library.
Trustees are unpaid elected officials who are genuinely interested in public libraries and who understand the importance of libraries in the community. Trustees must be willing to devote both time and effort to carry out the duties of trustee and should understand and represent all segments of the community.
Trustees work cooperatively with other members of the Board of Trustees and the Library Director. Skills especially needed range from management and long-range planning to a sound understanding of budgets and finance. An appreciation of the educational and cultural needs of the community is also important. Additional strengths would be awareness and knowledge of human resources, public relations, and building space use.
