Trustee Candidate Announced

The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library Board of Trustees announced as of the legislated deadline of 5 pm, 30 days prior to the scheduled Budget and Trustee Vote, one eligible candidate has filed a petition to run for one of the two Clifton Park trustee positions which becomes vacant at year end. 

Ronald Weiss recently retired from the New York State Department of Transportation as a manager in the Office of Human Resources and has completed the requirements to be a library board trustee candidate. Mr. Weiss has an extensive background in personnel and labor relations practices and policies and well as a trainer of diversity, sexual harassment prevention and more. For over ten years, Mr. Weiss served on his congregation’s Board of Trustees which provided him experience in developing budgets, reviewing and approving policies, and creating long and short term management goals. He and his family are avid library users and have lived in the Clifton Park community for the last 25 years. He would “like to provide his experience and talents to help ensure that this library continues to be an integral part of our community.”

A Budget Information Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 10 at 7PM where Library Trustees and Library Director, Alex Gutelius, will be available to answer any questions about the Proposed 2014 Budget.
The Annual Library Budget Vote will be held on Thursday, September 12 at the Library located at 475 Moe Road between 7AM-9PM.  Registered voters, both renters and property owners, living in the Library District are eligible to vote.  Voters must have registered at least 30 days prior to the vote. Absentee ballot applications are available online at or at library service desks for those unable to vote at the library on September 12th.
