Library Trustee Candidates Sought for 2014

The Board of Trustees of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library are seeking candidates for two library trustee positions that expire on December 31, 2013.  The two trustee positions represent Clifton Park. In order to qualify, candidates are required to be registered voters residing in the town of Clifton Park.  Employees of the Library, contractors and vendors to the Library are ineligible. Residents will vote for the trustees as part of the annual Library Budget vote scheduled for September 12. John Cosgrove and Christene Thurston’s terms expire at the end of the year and both have decided not to run again.

Interested individuals can obtain a nominating petition at the Ask-A-Librarian Desk beginning July 1, 2013.  Candidates must collect the required number of signatures as indicated on the petition.  All petition signatures must be registered voters and reside in Clifton Park. Completed nominating petitions and accompanying questionnaires must be returned to the Library by 5pm, Tuesday, August 13.

The Library Board consists of 11 trustees; 7 representing Clifton Park and 4 representing Halfmoon.  Trustees serve a 5 year term, attend monthly board meetings, serve on assigned committees and contribute their expertise to benefit the Library and the served community.
