Ask a Librarian

Welcome to e-mail reference at the Clifton Park - Halfmoon Public Library.  Send us your questions and reference librarians will answer them online.  This service is designed to provide brief answers to factual questions or to direct you to resources that can help you answer a more involved question.

We will try to respond to your question within 24 hours (Monday through Friday). Questions submitted on a weekend or holiday will take a little longer. Sometimes our response will ask you for additional information or clarification of your question.

There are three ways to email a librarian.

• If you have a Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library card, or a card from another SALS/MVLS library, you may Ask a Librarian using your library card number and PIN. You do not need an email account to use this method.
• If you use an email program installed on your computer (outlook, outlook express, Eudora, etc.), please click on Ask a Librarian by email.
• If you use a web-based email program (i.e. yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc.) that you access from your browser, you may email your question to cphreference@sals.edu. Please include your name, a way for our librarians to contact you if more information is needed and any sources that you may have used already to search for an answer.
