Congratulations to all who participated in the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs!
Over 1,100 children, young adults and adults were registered in the library’s four reading programs. The library hosted over 100 events for children and teens, with over 4,600 people attending those programs. The library had 60 Teen Volunteers who contributed nearly 1,000 volunteer hours helping in programs and managing the Summer Reading Desk.
Thank you to all the teen volunteers! They are an immense help to the staff during the summer. The younger children respond well to the teens who listen to book reviews or assist at programs. Teens are learning or honing valuable skills as well, during their volunteer experience. They are mentoring younger children, learning time management skills, and using their interpersonal and collaboration skills.
