Tech for Kids
We have iPads loaded with Children's games and educational apps available for use in the Children's Library. Patrons are permitted to use the devices for 1 hour at a time, for up to 3 hours per day if nobody else is waiting. Stop at the Youth Reference Desk to borrow a device**.
The Children's Library has Internet-enabled computers with access to black & white and color printers available for use by children and adults accompanied by children. A Library card is required and signed parental consent is required for patrons under age 18. Computer may be used for 1 hour at a time, for up to 3 hours per day if nobody else is waiting.There is a charge for printing - $.10/page for black & white and $.50/page for color.
These fun robots are controlled by Scratch and other programming languages. Library cardholders age 18 and older may check them out at the Youth Services Desk.
We have computer classes for children on topics such as Scratch programming and making your own movies. Registration is required and and parental permission for Internet access is required prior to start of class. Laptops for Adults
Wondering what to do while your child plays and reads? Internet enabled laptops are available for use by adults in the Library**. Information may be found at the Ask a Librarian Desk on the lower level. Read more about the computer services available at our Library.
**Available for in-house loaning to library cardholders age 18 and older and in good standing with the library. Possession of someone else’s card does not imply permission to check out an iPad or laptop. Laptops may be used in the Main library areas, as well as the Children's Library.
