Saratoga County VITA will be offering tax help through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) at the Library for seniors, low income (under $50,000) and those who have difficulty with preparation of their taxes and may not be able to afford professional help.
An IRS representative will meet with individuals on Wednesdays only from Feb. 13, 2013 through April 10, 2013 from 5 until 7pm. No appointments will be taken. Those requesting help will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check-in at the Library's Welcome Desk.
There is no charge for the tax help, but taxpayers must bring their social security cards or other accepted official documents showing the number for all listed on the tax returns, photo identification, and appropriate receipts and statements. If VITA did not prepare the return last year a copy of last year's tax return should be provided.
