What materials may I borrow?
Books, records/CDs, books on CD, DVDs, magazines, toys, video tapes, audio tapes, and pamphlets/maps may be borrowed, though some materials may be limited to card holders who reside in Clifton Park or Halfmoon. Items not found in our collection can be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan. The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library networks with libraries within the SALS/MVLS systems as well as the Capital District Library Council (CDLC) and other NYS libraries. There is a $0.25 fee per item requested.
For how long may I borrow the materials?
Materials Restricted to Residents of Clifton Park & Halfmoon
- new books - 14 days
- video tapes, DVD, CD-ROM - 7 days
- books on CD - 28 days
Unrestricted Materials
- Adult Magazines, Civil Service Test books, encyclopedias - 7 days
- all other materials - 28 days
How do I renew materials?
Renewals may be done in person and over the phone during normal business hours. Please be prepared to give your library card number if you phone in your renewal. Renewals may also be done on the computer using the Patron Account feature of the Web Catalog. Please note that not all materials may be renewed. What are the fines for overdue materials?
10¢ per day per item unless otherwise stated (this includes books on CD)
25¢ per day for 14-day books
50¢ per day for videotapes
$1.00 per day for CD ROMs, DVD
$5.00 maximum fine for any one item
$10.00 maximum fine on any group of items being returned on the same day.
