Freedom

By Annemarie

Freedom
Is sometimes
Taken for granted.

Think.
Of everything we do,
Are allowed to do.
Then
Think.
Of the things we cannot.

While we speak our minds,
Others are punished for
Even trying.

Now
Think.
With our
Freedom
What we can do.

We can help those not free
And make our
Freedom
Worthwhile.

Freedom
Is supposed to ring a bell.
Supposed to bring joy and music
To our hearts.

But does it?
Really?
Or is it something just
There.
Not taken notice of,
Just
There.
In a dark corner of the mind.

Envied by those without it,
Freedom.
