Erie Canal crosses Mohawk River The Erie Canal, begun 200 years ago, was considered one of the wonders of the world. Thirteen miles of it went through Halfmoon and Clifton Park; as it did along the rest of its length, the canal radically changed our two towns. This exhibit has information on the aqueducts, life on the canal, and possibilities for visiting the Erie and Champlain canals in present day. Be sure to listen to the audio clips from interviews with people who grew up working and living along the canal!
In honor of the Library's 10th anniversary at 475 Moe Road, Library staff created an oral history by interviewing key people involved with the building project. Take a Journey to Moe Road by listening to audio clips and viewing photos documenting the work and memories bringing our current library to life. Thank you to all who participated and worked on this very worthwhile project.
